This game hardly utilizes any advanced instruction sets (which indeed could cause crashes), I suspect, that the most advanced instruction set supported by this game is SSE1 and that is the last century technology, literally - every CPU made in last 10+ years supports this tehcnology and even mobile version of i5 does OP computer does not have enough computing power to run this game smoothly, but insufficient CPU/GPU will cause slowdowns, not outright crashes.
